This report details an operational implementation of the Training Assessment Framework (TAF). The purpose of this implementation is to showcase how new and existing assessments used by the Naval Education and Training Command (NETC) (e.g., in “A” School) can be made compatible with—and provide output data in support of—MyNavy Learning (MNL) xAPI information requirements. Specifically, this report describes a prototype, nextgeneration implementation of TAF focused on (a) identifying relevant metrics and indicators of training effectiveness, (b) determining key measures of performance assessment needed for adaptive feedback and remediation (including an emphasis on situations and settings), and (c) implementing automated approaches for capturing assessed performance expressed via xAPIcompliant data statements.
